Isn’t fall the best? I mean I just love the colors, the weather, apple cinnamon, pumpkin patches, and football. When it’s that time of year you just want to gather with family, cuddle up by a fire, and eat some fall goodies. The good news is that you can do all of that with a healthy twist, you know how I roll around here. Just serve up my healthy turkey meatballs at your next party or make a batch for your next meal prep.
There are so many ways to put a healthy twist on food but I feel like when we start watching football we automatically go for the pizza or nachos. If you are going to be gathering with friends and family for a little sports action then do yourself a favor, plan ahead. Bring your water, some healthy snack bars, and maybe some almonds to munch on.
Lauren, why are there hemp seeds in this recipe?
Hemp Seeds are very nutritious and are rich in 2 essential fatty acids, omega-6, and omega-3. They are a great protein source, about 25% of their calories come from protein vs. 16% from Chia Seeds. If you want more plant-based protein use hemp seeds, 2-3 tbsp provide about 11 grams of protein. Much plant-based proteins lack essential amino acids, but hemp seeds contain significant amounts of amino acids. They also contain high levels of arginine and glutamic acid.
