You don’t have to deprive yourself of dessert just make a few small tweaks to the recipe and you’ve got yourself a healthy alternative to a simple favorite.
This apple crisp recipe calls for coconut oil which has many health benefits. Coconut oil can help build and repair muscles. It has also been shown to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, aid in weight loss, give your hair a health boost, and can help your liver and kidney function! Yikes, I bet you had no idea that coconut oil had all those benefits. I would also add that you can make your own face scrub with just coconut oil and pink Himalayan salt. Seriously, just mix melted coconut oil and pink Himalayan salt together, place in a jar to harden, and voila!!
Fall Apple Crisp Recipe
3 Large Honeycrisp Apples Sliced and Diced
3 TBSP Coconut Oil Melted
1 cup Gluten-Free Oatmeal
1-2 tbsp of brown sugar (this is optional, obviously if you are trying to cut calories then don’t add this one)
Sprinkle of Cinnamon
Combine all ingredients in a bowl, stir to combine
Coat a frying pan with coconut oil spray or actual coconut oil
Add all ingredients to the pan and saute the mixture until cooked.
