Health Benefits of Ginger-Lemon Water

There are man health benefits of ginger-lemon water. Every weekend I mix up a jug of ginger-lemon water to make sure it’s ready to go for the morning. Why do I do this you might ask? Well, we all know we need to drink more water but I want my water to do more than just hydrate. To top it off, in my first cup in the morning I add 1 shot of Apple Cider Vinegar.

Ginger has an incredible amount of health properties and lemon does more than adding a kick of flavor. Keep reading to find out exactly what ginger and lemon can do for your body.

What is ginger? Why is it so good for you?

Ginger is high in gingerol, a substance with powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. In fact, it has one of the highest properties of antioxidants when compared to other foods.

Antioxidants prevent oxidative stress, a process that is associated with diseases like cancer, diabetes, and stroke. Oxidative stress occurs when there are too many free radicals — molecules naturally produced by metabolic processes — in the body. Antioxidants stabilize free radicals and prevent oxidative stress, thereby protecting the body from disease.

My Ginger-Lemon Water Recipe:

2 Ginger Cloves Shredded in a pitcher
Juice of 1 lemon
Fill pitcher with water and store it in the fridge overnight.
The next morning I fill my water cup with ice, place a strainer on top and pour the lemon-ginger water in the cup. Before it is completely full I add 1 shot of Apple Cider Vinegar.

Add 1 shot of ACV to the TOP of your water. That way you don’t get the full flavor and it mixes with the lemon and ginger water.

To get all the health benefits of this ginger-lemon water recipe, make sure you let the water sit overnight before drinking!
